On the occasion of the hotel grand opening, AMATA Group Chairman Mr. Vikrom Kromadit said “AMATA Group has developed a business plan that foresees the transformation from industrial estates towards industrial smart cities; we are collaborating with the government sector of Japan to develop towards AMATA Smart City in the future. We are focusing on eight different smart approaches, whereof one approach is to create a smart community providing comfortable and smart living infrastructure. Hotel Nikko AMATA City Chonburi was developed under the concept “Home away from home” catering to the 450 Japanese companies, representing around 60% of all our manufacturers at AMATA City Chonburi. Before designing the hotel, during a two-year study, our Japanese partners examined behaviors of local and expat employees at AMATA. The study found that there are around 4,000 Japanese nationals and their families working in AMATA and living here.”

The hotel is a 4-star business hotel with 12 floors including a traditional Japanese bath house “Ofuro”, the sky bar and the infinity-edge pool on its rooftop. Room tiers start from Standard Room of 32 square meters up to Presidential Suite of 96 square, catering to international and local customers likewise, corporate clients and business travelers on a business trip to AMATA City Chonburi and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area. ‘Shikisai’ restaurant serves a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes, giving guests the opportunity to understand Japanese culture through food. The hotel has several types of function rooms for conferences, business meetings, ceremonies, and events of all descriptions.

The hotel works closely with AMATA Spring Country Club promoting “stay and play golf” and will co-host golf tournaments staged at AMATA Spring.

Khunying Kallaya Sophonpanich, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, and the guest of honor at the hotel grand opening event added that “The Thai government is aware that Japanese companies have played a crucial role in the development of Thailand’s industry, especially in the Eastern Economic region. This hotel venture is a great opportunity for AMATA and Thailand to learn from a country (remark: Japan) with the highest standards of life.”

Mr. Tatsuhiko Takesada, President and Chief Operating Officer of JOIN, said “The hotel is the first Thailand project of JOIN, a Japanese government-private sponsored infrastructure investment fund, aiming to encourage Japanese companies to invest overseas in the field of infrastructure and urban development.
