Department Manager - Project Development (AMATA U)

Scope of Work:

Responsible for overseeing the identification, evaluation, and development of projects within the company's portfolio, including water, power, renewable energies, waste management, energy management, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the project development portfolio in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
  • Identify potential projects within the water, power, renewable energies, waste management, and energy management sectors. Evaluate their feasibility, risks, and potential returns on investment.
  • Lead the development of projects from conception to execution, including conducting feasibility studies, securing permits, coordinating with stakeholders, and overseeing project design and construction.
  • Manage project budgets, forecast costs, track expenses, and ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, including regulatory, environmental, financial, and operational risks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, investors, and industry partners.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the project development team, setting objectives and fostering collaboration.
  • Monitor project progress, report on key performance indicators, and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in project development practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields; master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project development and project management with a proven track record of success. Experience in the energy or utility sector is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional business acumen, with an understanding of project development processes and industry dynamics. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards is essential.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, even under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a can-do attitude.
  • Good command of English. Ability to work with multinational teams and clients.
