Quang Tri Industrial Park Unveils Phase 1 with Momentous Groundbreaking Ceremony

Posted on | Business News

On December 15, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Tri Industrial Park (QTIP) was held in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including leaders from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, and representatives from the Singapore and Japan embassies. The Quang Tri Development Consortium, a joint venture of three infrastructure investors, namely Vietnam–Singapore Industrial Park J.V. Co., Ltd, AMATA City Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company, and Sumitomo Group, celebrated this significant milestone.

Mr. Surakij Kiatthanakorn, the General Director of AMATA City Bien Hoa JSC (seen in the picture above, far right), and Ms. Nattamon Limthanachai, the Independent Director of AMATA VN PCL, represented AMATA in the official groundbreaking ritual ceremony.

The Quang Tri Industrial Park is a key project for the province, covering an area of 481 hectares with an investment capital of over 2,000 billion VND (USD 82 million). Phase 1, spanning 97.4 hectares with an investment of 504 billion VND (around USD 20 million), is already underway. The targeted industries for the Industrial Park include textiles, footwear, packaging and printing, wood and furniture processing, and F&B.

Given its strategic geographical location along the East-West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar, the project is expected to boost economic growth and contribute to the long-term development of Quang Tri province. The Industrial Park is anticipated to generate employment for 30,000-40,000 workers once operational.

Additionally, during the groundbreaking ceremony, five enterprises signed a Land Lease Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Quang Tri IP. These include Winzen Holding Company (Hong Kong), Join Success Wealth Company (Singapore), along with three Vietnamese enterprises.
