How AMATA Contributes to the APEC 2022 Key Theme of BCG

Posted on | Business News

With Thailand's hosting of APEC in 2022, "The Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy" are a lasting legacy of APEC2022, guiding APEC's sustainability work going forward, including addressing climate change, social inequities, trade and travel among member nations and post COVID-19 recovery to promote long-term growth that is resilient, inclusive, balanced and sustainable.

Held in person for the first time in four years, APEC 2022 Leaders' Week during November 14 - 19, 2022, hosted talks among leaders and representatives of the forum’s 21 member economies, special guests including French President Emmanuel Macron and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, leading business leaders, and youths from the APEC Voices of the Future 2022 program.

Throughout Thailand’s host year, from December 2021 to November 2022, the country organized hundreds of meetings; eventually, as a key achievement of APEC, leaders issued the 2022 Declaration and the Bangkok Goals on the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy as a driving force for growth and sustainability of all member economies in the region.

Photo: AMATA's booth under the concept of "The World of AMATA" included the display of products and services in line with Thailand's BCG economic theme, such as circular economy water and waste management, smart city development, sustainability achievements related to UNSDGs, AMATA Foundation etc.

AMATA, as an official communication partner and an exhibitor during the key leaders' week at the event's venue Queen Sirikit Convention Center, set up a booth in line with APEC's key theme of Bio-Circular-Green. All mobile installations, including counters, signs and posters, tables and chairs were fabricated using recycled card box.

AMATA's event shirts were produced by MORELOOP ("making circular economy a reality"), maximizing surplus fabrics and upcycle these into new products

Our aim was to support the organizers in achieving sustainability by not wasting materials and to show that recycled materials indeed can look good!
