All of the company’s several hundreds of kilometers of roadway are concrete paved roads built to the standards of Highway Departments and have bearing capacity of 21 tons or more. Branch roads start from a width of 25 meters (two lanes) and extend to 50 meters (four lanes) while main roads are six to ten lanes in width.

Amata Thailand’s Plastic Road Initiative

In 2018, Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, Chemicals Business of Siam Cement Group (SCG) and Dow Thailand Group signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop the first recycled plastic roads in Thailand. The roads are developed for Amata City Chonburi industrial estate in a pilot project that creates new value for plastic waste and advances a circular economy. The project offers opportunities to increase the durability of asphalt roads while reducing the amount of plastic waste in the industrial estate. The partnership between the three organizations will serve as a model of how organizations can collaborate to reduce the amount of plastic waste in the environment, advance a circular economy and create value for plastic waste.
