Taiflex Scientific, with headquarters in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is an expert in advanced semiconductor packaging materials.

In May 2022, Taiflex announced its plans to set up an overseas production base to rise the competitive advantage. The company chose Thailand and Amata City Chonburi industrial estate for building a new plant, investing an estimated USD35 million in the first phase of construction.

Taiflex decided to invest in Thailand due to its strategic location, favorable investment conditions provided by the government sector and because Thailand is Southeast Asian's largest automobile manufacturer and exporter with a complete supply chain, actively supporting the electric vehicle industry.

Taiflex has produced materials for EV industry for a long time, as the only supplier of FCCL materials with a factory in Thailand, Taiflex will be ready to provide immediate services to satisfy the demands in the industry.

Taiflex chose AMATA due to its 30 years of experience in industrial real estate; there is a large-scale industrial cluster at AMATA City Chonburi, which is strategically located in the EEC with proximity to Bangkok, the Suvarnabhumi Int. Airport and the seaport Laem Chabang, which creates convenience in transportation and logistics. AMATA's industrial city concept supports various functions such as life, leisure, teaching and research; in addition, Taiflex hopes that more Taiwanese manufacturers will gather here to create business opportunities, Taiflex said in a press release earlier this year.

At the celebration, Mr. Kamjorn Vorawongsakul, Executive Advisor, AMATA Corporation said, "I am very proud to welcome to the AMATA family a world-class manufacturer of reliable and advanced flexible printed circuit material products, which is the world’s top three supplier of FBC materials."

Further, he said, "AMATA, in the heart of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor EEC, aims to create the future of manufacturing and innovation with the concept of smart city. Part of Thailand’s 4.0, a master plan that will transform Southeast Asia’s second largest economy from a regional manufacturing hub into a global innovation hub, AMATA smart city Chonburi is projecting to equip domestic and international firms’ headquarters and manpower with a complex combination of life and work under a sustainable and high-tech formula."
